Service of air conditioning systems

Maintenance and repair of the air conditioning system is important for a long and efficient service life of the equipment. If regular maintenance is not carried out, the air conditioners will not work for the prescribed period and you will have to repair individual parts in advance, which are not cheap, or even buy new equipment.

How often do I need to have air conditioning serviced?

Air conditioners are cleaned with special chemicals. It is recommended to entrust this work to specialists and carry it out at least 2 times a year. The main task of service maintenance is to maintain the required system parameters and extend the service life.

The service of VRF air conditioning and heating systems differs from split systems and multi-split systems only in the scale of operation. Everything else goes according to the standard scheme.

We have been developing and implementing turnkey solutions in the field of engineering systems since 2004.

One-time and scheduled maintenance

Service maintenance is divided into one-time and scheduled.

  • In the case of a one-time call, a team of specialists arrives at the facility to provide services within 24 hours of receiving the call. Payment is made upon completion of the work.
  • Scheduled maintenance is carried out in accordance with the contract, which specifies the terms, work and their cost.
  • Nighttime service is also provided.

What does air conditioning system maintenance include?

System diagnostics begins with checking the indoor units

  • First of all, the grille in the duct or the distribution panel in any other air conditioner is cleaned of dust.
  • Then they start cleaning the heat exchanger. Over time, dust and debris stick to it and fungus begins to grow. As a result, the performance of the air conditioner decreases. The air becomes unfavorable for humans.
  • Then the fan blades and drainage are cleaned. The condensate drainage pipe also tends to get clogged with dirt. If it is not cleaned at all, water from the air conditioner will flow through the walls and ceiling.
  • At the end, they diagnose the electronics.

After checking the indoor unit, proceed to the outdoor unit.

The first step is to clean the heat exchanger from dust, dirt, fluff and other debris. Then, using a special station, they check the pressure in the system. If it is lower than normal, then there is a freon leak. After fixing the problem, the system is checked again for leaks. Then they refuel if the system has R22 freon, and recharge if it has R410A. In the latter case, the remnants of the old refrigerant are evacuated and charged with the new one.

During diagnostics, it is recommended to test the system for the presence of acid and moisture in the freon. Various indicators are used for this purpose. Once in the system, it can disrupt compressor operation and lead to corrosion of individual elements.

Repair of air conditioning systems

If the air conditioner stops working or leaks, you need to call specialists to identify the problem and fix it. Timely service and diagnostics prolong the operation of air conditioners. If a breakdown has already occurred, repairs will be necessary.

First of all, the specialist diagnoses the system to identify the cause of the malfunction, and only then agrees with the Customer on the solution options.

Let’s consider the most common problems

  • The air conditioner is leaking. Condensate from the air conditioner does not drain to the designated location. In this case, the drainage tube may be incorrectly sloped, clogged or broken.
  • The air conditioner does not cool/heat the air in the room well. There are several options here. For example, the power of the air conditioner was incorrectly selected from the very beginning, or it operates without a low-temperature kit in winter. To fix the problem, you may need to replace some elements.
  • The air conditioner does not turn on. In this case, the system may have power supply problems. Or the compressor may have burned out and needs to be replaced.

Untimely maintenance can lead to low equipment efficiency, noise, unpleasant odors, etc. Modern air conditioning systems are quite complex. Maintenance should be entrusted to a reliable service center.

Cost of service maintenance

The cost of maintaining an air conditioning system depends on the time required for service, the complexity of the work, and the need for additional materials and equipment.
