What was done

The pub-restaurant “Mokri Vusa” in Kyiv has introduced a new heating system, ventilation and air conditioning with a focus on full energy efficiency. The use of electricity in the premises is limited, so the engineers fought for every kW.

Full recovery in all possible places: the kitchen has air handling units with sealed plate recuperators that retain up to 60% of the heat. The restaurant has air handling units with highly efficient heat recovery REMAK HRZ up to 93%. The most economical Ruck fans with speed controllers.

The Haier MRV4 VRF unit was installed as a heating and air conditioning system that not only cools the premises in summer but also heats them in winter with optimal efficiency. The goal has been achieved – the equipment has been operating accurately, stably and economically, like a Swiss watch, for more than a year.

Stages of work

1

Energy audit

We analyzed and calculated the design and survey, construction and installation works. After that, a concept was developed with further planning of engineering communications.

2

Pre-design work and research

Pre-design work and research were carried out, including dismantling and diagnosing the existing ventilation and air conditioning system, cleaning and preparing working equipment and materials for further use.

3

Design

A project was prepared for supply and exhaust ventilation (Ruck and Remak), air heating and VRF air conditioning systems by Haier, and split systems by Leberg. The existing and operating equipment and air ducts were taken into account as much as possible and adapted to the new system.

4

Preparatory work

Preparatory work was carried out: preliminary marking and planning, preparation of sites for equipment and installation openings for its passage. Punching holes for air ducts, copper pipelines, drilling holes for cables and drainage pipes, installation of embedded parts, exclusion of system intersections with process pipelines and power grids.

5

The first stage of installation work

Freon lines and air ducts were laid, insulated and painted.

6

The second stage of installation work

Installation of several supply and exhaust units was carried out, which included: the layout of the duct system parts, the connection of existing Aerostar plate recuperators and a new high-efficiency Remak recuperator, Ruck, Aerostar fans, electric heaters, silencers, dampers, etc. The outdoor and indoor units of the Haier VRF air conditioning and heating system, Leberg split systems and existing equipment were installed.

7

The third stage of installation work

Finishing work was carried out: installation of air distribution devices, control panels, electrical work.

8

Commissioning and adjustment works

The quality of the installation was checked. Tests and diagnostics were carried out, systems were adjusted and debugged. The project was adjusted and the executive documentation was prepared.

9

Acceptance into operation

The final stage of work has been completed: system launch, control demonstration, commissioning, and formalization of the HVAC system handover process.
