What was done
For the restaurant “Belkin“, which is located in the Pushkin Park in Kyiv, was implemented by our company:
- design of HVAC systems
- supply of climate control equipment
- assembly
- commissioning and start-up of systems
The building uses supply and exhaust ventilation which includes: suspended ducted assembly units with hermetic Aerostar plate recuperators, a network of air ducts, grilles with anemostats, exhaust kitchen umbrellas with grease traps and hydrofilters.
As air conditioning systems і heating Neoclima ducted inverter split systems are used, which can operate even at low temperatures. This solution is both an economical and energy-efficient option for organizing proper air exchange and maintaining the microclimate for restaurants.
Stages of work
Engineering research
We analyzed and calculated the design and survey, construction and installation works. After that, a concept was developed with further planning of engineering communications.
Design and installation solutions for ventilation systems
Mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation with heat recovery was designed for the restaurant premises. To ensure proper air exchange, two units were selected, one for each floor. The ventilation system includes: an Aerostar plate recuperator with an efficiency of up to 50%, which reduces the cost of heating fresh air and ensures its circulation without mixing; a Ruck supply duct fan; an exhaust kitchen fan Ukrvent; an electric heater; filters and dampers.
All air ducts in the restaurant are installed openly. On the ground floor, in the main hall, the supply ducts run along the perimeter. This solution allows to cut off the main heat losses from the panoramic windows. In turn, the minimalist arrangement of communications does not interfere with the interior. Fresh and clean air from the supply grilles flows smoothly through the entire hall to the center, where the open kitchen is located and the main heat surplus is concentrated.
Based on the location of the technical equipment, it was decided to organize a network of exhaust ducts in the center of the room. Basically, the air is removed using umbrellas with grease traps and through a technical pipe.
A water filter is also provided to prevent fire in the oven and electric grill. The complete set of the water filter consists of a housing with filters and a storage tank. The equipment has a closed cooling water circulation system in a high-pressure circuit. The water filter housing is connected directly to the exhaust duct.
As the air stream passes through the water curtain, sparks and burning particles are initially extinguished. On its way through the water-irrigated labyrinth filter, the air flow is cooled and grease, aerosols and soot are captured. At a 180°C turn in the air flow, extinguished sparks and particles are separated above the water layer. Finally, the purified air passes through a dry labyrinth filter, where it is cooled to 40-60 °C. Droplets are separated from the air before entering the exhaust duct.
The basement is equipped with a supply and exhaust unit, which was selected according to a similar scheme to the ground floor. It is designed for hot and cold workshops, a washing room and other staff rooms. Each room is ventilated with the required air exchange rate. Exhaust umbrellas with grease traps are mounted above the technical equipment.
Separate exhaust systems with three-stage ducted Ruck EM series fans are provided for bathrooms.
Design and installation solutions for air conditioning and heating systems
In the main hall and in the basement workshops there are high-power Neoclima NDSI/NUI series inverter channel split systems. This equipment has a wide operating temperature range: from -23 °C to +55 °C. The system operates on environmentally friendly freon R32.
The outdoor units are equipped with a Toshiba compressor. Indoor units are located evenly throughout the hall. Channels with grilles are stretched from the air inlets, which repeat the ventilation scheme and harmoniously fit into the design of the restaurant. Leberg wall-mounted split systems are installed in the basement.
Automation and dispatching system
An individual automation system has been developed. The air handling units are equipped with control panels. The air parameters in the air conditioners are regulated by separate wired and wireless remote controls. The hydrofilter is equipped with an automatic alarm unit for rising air temperature.
Launching and debugging the system
Commissioning, launching of the system and demonstration of control were carried out. The customer was provided with the executive documentation with certificates for the equipment and warranty cards.
