What was done
For 3-hall cinema Filmax located in Uman, Termal engineers implemented a project to create HVAC systems with a strict limit of 25 kW and compliance with all rules and restrictions. No additional energy sources were available.
The following technical decisions were made:
Air source heat pump (air conditioning and heating) Hitachi as the main air conditioning equipment. It allows for high power output (55 kW) with minimal power consumption (14 kW).
The heated or cooled air is evenly distributed throughout the building thanks to a system of ducted units located in the attic of the cinema.
Supply and exhaust ventilation systems high efficiency with advanced REMAK HRZ recuperators (up to 93% heat and 60% cold recovery).
The fans produce virtually no noise and are also very economical. Additionally, noise mufflers, vibration dampers and noise-reducing sound insulation are installed.
Heat recovery units from movie projectors. During operation, movie projectors generate large heat fluxes. In the basic design, the air from the hall passes through the projector, is cooled, and goes outside. This solution leads to an imbalance of air in the room and increased energy costs.
Engineers developed and implemented a system for heat recovery from projectors by installing mixing chambers.
In winter, when there is a need for heat recovery, the warm air from the projectors is directed to the exhaust fan of the air handling unit and goes into the recuperator. It releases 93% of the heat to the fresh air supply. At the same time, the equipment automatically draws less air from the cinemas, maintaining the correct ratio of air supplied and removed.
In summer, the warm air is removed directly to the environment, without heating the supply air. Thanks to this solution, the air consumption for heating after the recuperator is practically zero. And when the projectors are not working, the ventilation of the hall is turned off when not needed.
